A review of the Access to Infrastructure Regulations policy paper

Citing a desire to “make it easier for telecoms operators to reuse existing passive infrastructure”, the UK government declared a review of the Access to Infrastructure (ATI) Regulations in June 2020.

The announcement, prompted by the realisation of the vital importance of digital connectivity most notably in times of crisis, came with an invitation for interested parties to submit their responses to several questions based around the existing policy.

Having invested heavily in technology designed to develop the ways in which fibre optic cable may be installed, maintained and removed from waste water systems, SSE Enterprise Telecoms were eager to make the most of the opportunity to influence future legislation.
