Our 13,700km fibre network and 265+ diversely connected core network Points of Presence (PoPs) allow us to deliver very high levels of fully managed bandwidth into most major business conurbations across the UK. In areas we don’t serve directly with our own fibre, our Edge Plus programme extends our own network presence into over 2,000 third party PoPs across the nation.
What are Points of Presence (PoPs)?
A PoP is an access point that allows users to connect to our network. PoPs contain network interface equipment such as routers, network switches and multiplexers. The more PoPs a provider has, the more able it is to meet consumers’ growing demand for high performance networking services. SSE Enterprise Telecoms is proud to have an expansive network of PoPs around the UK.
Connecting large sites
For very large or demanding sites, we offer our Optical Connectivity services. Our services are usually bespoke in design and can be chosen from a range of service resilience options. These high bandwidth, high availability services offer up to 100Gbps per wavelength, with multiple wavelengths available for each site. For those customers where connecting multiple sites is key, we offer a choice of network service types. Our Point-to-Multipoint Ethernet service supports customers with a data centre centric service model.
